This policy explains what Reboot handles in the app, on the website, and through the beta signup form.
Short Version
- Reboot is local-first. You can use the app without creating an account.
- Optional sign-in is used for account features and cloud backup.
- HealthKit access is optional and controlled by Apple Health permissions.
- Raw HealthKit samples stay on your device and in Apple Health. Reboot does not sync raw HealthKit samples to its cloud backup.
- Product analytics are used to understand app flows and fix rough edges. Reboot does not use advertising IDs, third-party advertising, cross-app tracking, or device fingerprinting.
- Purchases are handled through Apple and RevenueCat.
- The beta/signup form is handled by Google Forms.
Data Reboot Handles
App Data Stored on Your Device
Reboot stores app data locally so the app can work without an account. This can include:
- Profile fields you enter or choose to sync from Apple Health, such as age, weight, biological sex, fitness experience, selected goals, and body composition fields
- App preferences such as units, rest timers, home equipment, weekly goals, and reminder settings
- Custom workouts, exercise overrides, workout history, program progress, and progress summaries
This data is used to run the app, show your workouts and progress, personalize estimates, and keep your settings.
HealthKit and Apple Health
If you grant permission, Reboot can read Apple Health data such as workouts, heart rate, active energy, date of birth or age, biological sex, body weight, and body composition metrics. Reboot can also write completed workouts and active energy estimates to Apple Health.
Reboot uses HealthKit data for workout tracking, calorie estimates, heart rate zones, profile sync, and progress views.
Raw HealthKit samples stay on your device and in Apple Health. Reboot does not sync raw HealthKit samples to Supabase or other Reboot cloud backup storage. App-side profile fields and progress summaries derived from workouts may be stored in Reboot and may be included in optional cloud backup if you sign in.
Reboot does not use or share HealthKit, health, or fitness data for advertising, marketing, sale, data mining, or cross-app tracking.
Optional Account Data
You can sign in with Apple or Google. Authentication is provided through Supabase.
If you sign in, Reboot may handle:
- Your Supabase user ID
- Your sign-in provider
- Your email address, if your provider shares it
- Authentication session data needed to keep you signed in
Account credentials and tokens are stored using secure platform storage where applicable, such as Keychain.
Optional Cloud Backup
If you sign in, Reboot can back up eligible app-owned data to Supabase so you can restore it later. This can include:
- Profile and preference data
- Custom workouts and exercise overrides
- Workout library state and workout history
- Program progress
- Progress snapshots, personal records, calorie summaries, and strength insights
Cloud backup does not include raw HealthKit samples. It is tied to your authenticated Reboot account.
Product Interaction Analytics
When analytics are configured, Reboot uses TelemetryDeck to send product interaction events and basic event properties. These can include onboarding, workout preview/start/completion, paywall, purchase, restore, sign-in, permission, and feature usage events.
Reboot uses this information to understand whether important app flows work, improve onboarding, and fix confusing parts of the product.
Reboot does not send raw HealthKit samples, payment card details, or the contents of your custom workouts as analytics event payloads. Analytics are not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.
Purchases and Subscriptions
Reboot uses Apple and RevenueCat for purchases, subscriptions, entitlements, and restore-purchase flows.
This can include purchase history, product identifiers, receipts, subscription status, renewal or expiration state, and entitlement status. Reboot uses this only to unlock Premium features, show subscription state, and restore purchases. Reboot does not receive your full payment card details.
Local Notifications
If you enable reminders, Reboot schedules local notifications on your device. Reminder preferences are stored locally in the app. Reboot does not send reminder schedules to a server for push notification delivery.
Website Beta and Signup Forms
The Reboot website does not add analytics, cookies, accounts, or a custom signup database in v1. Like any website, hosting and network providers process routine request metadata needed to deliver pages.
If you join the beta list or send beta feedback, your response is collected through Google Forms and processed by Google. This may include:
- Your email address
- Optional feedback, comments, or answers you choose to provide
- Standard form metadata handled by Google Forms
Reboot uses beta form responses to manage beta interest, invite testers, understand early feedback, and contact you about Reboot beta availability. Google's handling of form responses is governed by Google's own terms and privacy practices.
Service Providers
Reboot does not sell personal information.
Reboot shares data only with services needed to provide the app, website, beta process, purchases, analytics, support, and account features:
| Service | Purpose | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Apple | HealthKit, Apple Health, App Store billing, Sign in with Apple, TestFlight | Health data you permit, App Store purchase data, Apple sign-in data, beta tester information handled by Apple |
| Sign in with Google and Google Forms | Google account authentication data if you choose Google sign-in; beta form responses if you submit the form | |
| Supabase | Optional authentication, cloud backup, and account deletion | User ID, email if provided, auth session data, and optional backup data |
| RevenueCat | Purchases, subscriptions, entitlements, and restore purchases | App user ID, product IDs, receipt data, entitlement state, purchase and subscription status |
| TelemetryDeck | Product interaction analytics when configured | App usage events and event properties |
These providers are used for the listed purposes, and we rely on their contracts, platform rules, and privacy commitments to protect data consistently with this policy and Apple's App Store requirements.
We may also disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect Reboot, users, or service security.
Your Choices
- Use Reboot without an account.
- Grant, deny, or revoke Apple Health access in iOS Settings -> Privacy & Security -> Health -> Reboot.
- Turn reminders off in Reboot or iOS notification settings.
- Delete local Reboot data by deleting the app from your device.
- Delete your cloud account and cloud backup in the app's Delete Account flow, or by emailing reboot@millwork.studio.
- Cancel or manage subscriptions in your Apple ID subscription settings. Deleting your Reboot account or the app does not cancel an App Store subscription.
- Request access, export, correction, or deletion of account-related data by emailing reboot@millwork.studio.
Retention
Local app data remains on your device until you delete it, change it, or delete the app. HealthKit data is controlled through Apple Health.
Cloud account and backup data remain until you delete your account, request deletion, or the data is no longer needed to provide the service, unless a longer period is required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention reasons.
Beta form responses are kept while they are useful for beta management, feedback, and related Reboot communication, unless you ask us to delete your response sooner.
Product analytics are kept only as long as reasonably useful for product improvement, debugging, and operational records.
Security
Reboot uses local-first storage where practical, secure platform storage for credentials where applicable, encrypted network connections, and trusted service providers. No storage or transmission system can be guaranteed 100% secure, but Reboot limits collection and does not add advertising or tracking systems.
Children
Reboot is not intended for children under 13, or under 16 where a higher age applies. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Reboot, contact reboot@millwork.studio.
International Processing
Reboot is operated from Australia and uses service providers that may process information in other countries. Privacy protections may vary by location, but this policy applies to Reboot's handling of your information.
Medical Note
Reboot is a wellness and fitness app, not a medical device. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Talk to a qualified healthcare professional before starting or changing an exercise routine if you have health concerns.
Changes
We may update this policy when Reboot, legal requirements, or service providers change. The date at the top shows the latest version.
